Serval Internet Routing Service (SIRS)

SIRS is part of Serval Infrastructure. It is effectively an Mesh Datagram Protocol (MDP) network router, because it does not forward all the MDP packets it receives, only those whose recipient Serval Identity (SID) resolves to a reachable IP address+port.

A SIRS server will typically attempt NAT Traversal (using an MDP protocol sequence similar to STUN) to establish two-way communication with IP nodes behind a NAT gateway.
