Serval SAM (acronym for “Survey Acquisition Manager”) is an Android app that uses the Open Data Kit (ODK) to capture survey information entered by the user into a form, and sends captured survey data (“form instances”) via Rhizome to a central collection point. It must be co-installed with Serval Mesh (app for Android).

Serval SAM was originally developed for the KiwiEx 2013 field trial, and has also been used for the City of Marion Council caltrop management trial.
