Serval Mesh DID and SID

The Serval Mesh software can use a different DID (phone number) and SID (subscriber id) than those configured with the device for cellular telephony.

An application that wishes to determine the DID and SID that the Serval Mesh can use a BroadcastReceiver to receive the “org.servalproject.SET_PRIMARY” sticky broadcast. Attached to the Intent associated with this broadcast are the DID and SID values.

The DidSidReceiver in the Serval Mesh Sampler application provides sample code that shows how to extract the values from the intent.

The ServalDidSidActivity in the Serval Mesh Sampler application uses the receiver to display the DID and SID and shows how the DidSidReceiver may be used.
